The October 30th was marked in Portugal as the “Open Day in Companies” and ASM Energia contributed with its participation.
About 100 companies, non-profit public or private institutions participated in the initiative “Dia Aberto Nas Empresas” (Open Day in Companies), part of the project “Maior Empregabilidade” (Higher Employability) developed and implemented by the Instituto Padre Antonio Vieira in partnership with FORUM ESTUDANTE magazine, the Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes (CCISP), the National Association of Professional Schools (ANESPO) and a number of Partner Institutions.
Following this initiative, ASM Energia was contacted by CATEC (Technological Campus Aveiro´s Municipal Stadium) in order to receive at their facilities the final year students of the Technical Course of Renewable Energy and Technical Course of Industrial Maintenance from Aveiro´s Professional School that are now installed in the Technology Unit, located in Vougapark, Sever do Vouga.
The challenge was promptly accepted, following the philosophy of informing the society and the surrounding community of our activities and our production lines. The 42 students visited the facilities in full activity, following all safety standards.
For the visit, the students were divided into 3 groups and each group followed with a guide from ASM Energia team, who, throughout the visit, explained the process of the tower sections manufacture since the raw material park until the final product storage park. At the end of the visit, the students assisted to an overall presentation of the company’s activity, markets in which it operates, among others, as well as some information regarding the recruitment and people management conducted in the company.
This project’s main objective was to approximate the students to the companies’ reality thus allowing a better preparation for them to integrate this context.
